Optical properties of single metallic nanorods: An analytical model

چکیده
It is well known that the optical properties of spherical metal particles can be described with Rayleigh approximation or rigorous Mie theory. But for single metallic nanorods, a theory capturing fundamental resonance and scattering features still absent. In this study, an analytical model developed nanorod, considering longitudinally non-uniform conduction current surface charges. With circuit parameters deduced from kinetic electromagnetic energy formula which agrees simulations has been suggested wavelength longitudinal mode. Moreover, by introducing radiative resistance to theory, dipole moment, extinction spectrum, near-field enhancement nanorod have derived analytically confirmed numerically. The results are important understanding nanorods provide guideline designing light absorption.
